FAMILY COUNSELING

Hope After Hurt: Restoring Love and Trust in Your Relationship

You remember the way things used to be — when everything felt easier, more connected, and full of possibility. But now, it feels like there’s distance between you and the person you care about. No matter how much you try, something just isn’t clicking the way it used to. The love and communication that once came naturally now feel strained, and it seems like there’s always some invisible barrier keeping you from truly connecting.

You find yourself asking, “How did we get here?” The little things that used to bring you closer now feel like points of tension. Arguments happen more often, or sometimes, there’s silence that’s just as painful as any fight. Maybe you’re not even sure what’s wrong anymore, but it feels like there’s this constant undercurrent of frustration or sadness that you can’t shake.

You’ve tried everything — talking, avoiding, compromising — but nothing seems to make things feel right. You’re stuck in a cycle that’s hard to break. You want things to improve, but you’re not sure where to start. You feel lost, disconnected, and unsure about what to do next.

And deep down, you wonder if things can ever go back to the way they were, or if this is just how it’s always going to be.

You don’t have to settle for being stuck

At RFC Counseling in Colorado, we understand that relationships are complicated, and they don’t always stay smooth. Every relationship has its ups and downs, but when it feels like you're stuck in a negative cycle, it's hard to know how to move forward. We’re here to help you rebuild and reconnect — whether you're facing communication breakdowns, trust issues, growing apart, or just feeling unsure of where things stand. Our work together will help you gain a deeper understanding of what’s going on in your relationship, and why things aren’t flowing the way they used to. You don’t have to just “survive” your relationship or settle for feeling disconnected. We’ll help you and your partner (or just you, if that’s where you’re at) understand the root of the issues and find healthy ways to rebuild trust, strengthen communication, and rekindle the connection you’re craving. It’s not about changing who you are or pretending things are perfect; it’s about creating a path forward that feels authentic to both of you.

You deserve a relationship that feels fulfilling again

At RFC Counseling, we’ll support you as you work through the challenges in your relationship. Whether you're looking to heal, reconnect, or make the tough decisions about your next steps, we’re here to help guide you with compassion and understanding. Let’s work together to create a relationship that feels truly fulfilling, whether it’s about rekindling what you’ve lost or finding peace with where you are.

How We Can Help

Our couples counseling services are designed to address a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:

  • How do I get started?
Click the CONTACT button located on the upper right corner of the page to submit your contact information, or directly contact us at 408-658-6291 or email us at info@rfccw.com. We will reach out to you within 24 hours!
  • How does counseling work?
We are currently offering virtual appointments only until further notice. We utilize secure video conferencing to enable face-to-face conversations. The video call is secure and confidential. When you schedule an appointment, you will be sent an email with a secure link enabling you to connect by video at the time of your appointment.
  • How often will we meet?
Generally, counseling sessions are held on a weekly basis as we begin to collaborate on goals, build rapport and gain momentum. As we progress, we may readjust our scheduled meetings to biweekly, once a month, etc. Some goals may take a few weeks to complete, while others may take several weeks, or months to resolve.
  • How long will I be in counseling?
Counseling is a personal investment, and for many, it is the most important investment one can make. Since counseling is an ongoing process, commitment length depends largely on the severity of issues and the goals we create together. We are devoted to clients’ therapeutic process and will diligently assess and monitor client progress throughout our journey together.
  • What happens if I miss an appointment?
A 24-hour notice is required to cancel and/or reschedule an appointment. If you do not show for your scheduled appointment and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
  • Do you accept insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider, which means we do not take insurance. We can provide a superbill at the end of each month that you can submit for reimbursement. We highly encourage you to speak directly to your insurance provider to inquire about reimbursement options.
  • What is the overall cost for counseling?
Under law, health care providers (including professional counselors) are required to provide a Good Faith Estimate, explaining the anticipated overall costs for health care services. You may ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling a service. For more information, please visit cms.org.
  • Is counseling confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality of all client information is protected by law. However, there are some limits to confidentiality when the safety of the client/others is compromised. We can provide you with the details of these exceptions during the initial counseling session.
